Hala Privacy Policy
Hala is an iPhone app made by Crescent Labs LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what happens to the information you put into Hala. The short version: it stays on your phone, and we never receive it.
What Hala stores
When you use Hala, you may enter symptoms, mood, energy, cycle and period information, treatment and hormone therapy details, and journal notes. This is health-related information, and we treat it as sensitive.
All of it is saved in a database on your device. Hala has no account system and no servers, and the app does not transmit what you enter. We do not collect, receive, store or have access to your data.
What Hala does not do
- It does not send your data to us or to anyone else.
- It does not require an account, email address or phone number.
- It does not include advertising.
- It does not include analytics, crash reporting, or tracking tools.
- It does not sell or share your data.
Notifications
If you turn on treatment reminders, Hala schedules them locally on your phone. They are not sent from a server. A reminder shows the name of the treatment you entered, so it may appear on your lock screen. You can turn notifications off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Backups
Hala itself never uploads your data. However, your iPhone may include app data in your device backup, such as an iCloud Backup or a computer backup, depending on your device settings. Those backups are handled by Apple and are governed by your Apple settings and Apple's privacy policy, not by us.
Apple
Hala is distributed through the Apple App Store. If you choose to share app analytics or crash data with developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may make aggregated information about app usage available to us. We don't control that data collection, and it is covered by Apple's privacy policy. It does not include anything you enter into Hala.
Deleting your data
You control your data. In Hala, open Settings and choose "Delete everything" to erase all logs, treatments and settings. Deleting the app also removes its data from your phone. Because we don't hold a copy, we can't recover data you delete.
Children
Hala is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This website
This website does not use cookies or analytics. It is hosted by Vercel, which may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for security and operations. If you email us, we will see your email address and message, and we will use them only to reply. Emails to our support address pass through our email and domain providers on their way to us.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a future version of Hala changes how your data is handled, we will update this policy before that version is released.
